Strong partnerships do more than support financial education. They help bring it directly to the people and communities who can benefit from it.
That was on full display in Seattle, where Financial Beginnings recently joined U.S. Bank for two opportunities to celebrate and expand a partnership that reaches learners, educators and communities across the country.
Financial Beginnings CEO Ronecca Norvell and Roxanne Myslewski joined U.S. Bank’s Power of Connectivity Seattle Town Hall to share how the organizations are working together to expand access to practical financial education.
U.S. Bank’s support reaches across several areas of Financial Beginnings’ work. The company has provided philanthropic investment in the Financial Beginnings K-12 Educator Training Center, licenses our Financial Footings curriculum and engages U.S. Bank associates as volunteer financial education facilitators.
Together, those efforts are reaching thousands of learners.
Through curriculum licensing, Financial Beginnings and U.S. Bank have reached more than 22,800 learners in 21 states. In Oregon and Washington alone, U.S. Bank volunteers have helped deliver 42 classes to more than 700 learners.
The partnership was also celebrated in a very different setting: center court.
Financial Beginnings was recognized as a U.S. Bank grant recipient during the Seattle Storm vs. Indiana Fever game, bringing greater visibility to the role financial education can play in helping people build knowledge and confidence.
The evening also created an opportunity to connect directly with families and fans. Financial Beginnings team members Jason Rothkowitz and Noah Charvat hosted a table on the concourse, where they shared Financial Footings workbooks for attendees to take home and use with young learners.
From the classroom to the community, these different points of connection demonstrate what is possible when partners invest not only financial resources, but also their people, expertise and time.
We are especially grateful to Esther Richmond and the U.S. Bank Seattle team for their longstanding leadership, advocacy and commitment to expanding financial education throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Whether supporting educators, equipping volunteers or putting financial education resources directly into the hands of families, our partnership with U.S. Bank is helping turn financial education into action.
